I first met Buttons while caring for his cat friends, Daisy and Angel. They were both receiving subcutaneous fluids for renal failure. After they crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, I would take care of Buttons occasionally for his owner, Judy. She and I became good friends. Unfortunately Judy passed away unexpectedly. However, provisions had been made for" Mr. B" through a very generous trust fund she set up. Judy left very specific instructions about his care and the type of home she wanted for him.

I took care of him for almost a year until his new home and wonderful new owner, Dorothy, were found. Dorothy fell in love with him immediately and honors Judy's wishes in her care of Buttons. I could not be happier for him -- he has a great Auntie Donna, who visits often and other new human friends who dote on him. I am fortunate to be part of his new family. Needless to say, Buttons and I have a special bond. He is quite a character, sometimes quite mischievous and very loving with an amazing purr.

A New Love Story

My experiences with Rachel Ray have been overwhelmingly positive. I adopted my cat

Mr. Buttons when his previous owner passed away. He had been cared for by Rachel for  approximately 8 months while his trustees searched for a suitable home for this very

special cat. Rachel was the angel who delivered him to me. She had kept thorough notes about his feeding instructions and favorite toys -- including a couple of very minor "faults"

-- like pushing my glasses off my face when

he wants attention and occasionally wanting

to play with my toes. It was clear she LOVES animals and is very intuitive about their well being. I have left Mr. Buttons in her care for extended periods of time while I was on

vacation or business travel. I would entrust my home, my animals and in fact my own self

to this lady any day.

Buttons Speaks

Miss Rachel is my long-time friend and confidant. When my Mom passed away I was all alone and didn't know why she didn't come home from the hospital. Since I was used to having attention lavished on me --it was a really hard time in my life. I was sad, but my friend Miss Rachel loved me, kept me entertained, and well-fed. She prepared me for my future home and mom and made sure I had all my toys and stuff to take with me. Now I even have my own bedroom. We still get together once a month and we have play time with treats she brings me. Miss Rachel does all of this on her own time just because she loves me. I am one lucky fella and I'm sure your animals would love her too.

Very Sincerely, Mr. Buttons, Pebble Beach, CA

A New Home

In May 2020 I saw a huge dog running all alone down my road. It took three days to rescue

him with the help of a neighbor.  He was a big German Shepard approximately three years old. He was very thin and had a huge lump on his right hip which needed veterinary attention. There were no tags on his collar

nor was he microchipped -- he was very scared, but a gentle big guy. A voice inside my heart said to call my friend, Karen, a wonderful woman who loves German Shepard dogs. We got him the medical help he needed with Dr. Shannon. We had to register him at Animal Services in Salinas so Karen could take him in as a foster dog, paying his extensive vet and care bills.

I have helped financially, but Karen has been his main benefactor. It took Cody --his new

name --several weeks to recuperate from his neglect. Through it all he showed his amazing fortitude. Honestly he is one of the best dogs

I have ever met.  He has a willingness to learn and he is very smart -- he looks you straight in the eyes from his soul to yours. Cody has manners, is housebroken and very playful.

Then there is the challenge -- he is dog reactive, but not in an aggressive way. We had consulted with Andee Burleigh (Divine K9) and Wendi Newman (SPCA behaviorist) and we are all patiently helping Cody to change this pattern of behavior.

As the weeks go by, I am fortunate to witness the transformation of a starved, injured and frightened dog to a vibrant, exuberant, fun, strong and intelligent Shepard. It has taken a group of compassionate women to help bring Cody back to his true self.

Dog Whisperer

I have known Rachel for about eight years.

She was enormously helpful with my elder German Shepherd, Lainey, and she needed to be handled in a gentle, calm and patient manner -- all of which I found in abundance with Rachel. My current dog, Cody, is a huge rescued three-year old German Shepherd.

He is a sweetheart, but VERY exuberant and badly in need of improved leash manners. Rachel has been instrumental in his daily practice sessions. She is doing the lion's share of the leash work and making great progress with him. Rachel is calm, gentle but firm and very patient.  I call her the dog whisperer. She is dedicated to her clients and the welfare of their critters. Rachel has all those traits that people want in their pet care person -- trustworthy, intelligent, gentle, reliable, honest, calm and knowledgeable. I wholeheartedly recommend Rachel for all

your pet care needs.
